Gothic

Title Gothic or Gothic (from italyanaskogo gotico, French and Latin gothique Gothi - «goths") comes from the tribe is ready. The Gothic style, which arose in France in the XII century and spread throughout Europe, used to achieve Roman culture, combining them with the evolving Christian world and life changing.

In the Romanesque period, monasteries and impregnable castles with hidden behind impenetrable doors separated mysteries like "faith of the mind blank wall ... Mysticism was to sink the mind in the faith ...". Gothic, by contrast, uses a completely different approach here - the principle of clarity and transparency in architecture as an expression of the new Christian position. In place of isolation comes the desire for openness, and to replace the superstitious prejudices - "clear and convincing deductive."

The architecture of the Romanesque exterior structure has no direct communication with the internal space. From outside, it's hard to imagine an internal structure, and in the interior can not be assumed, as looks or that part of the structure from the outside. In a Gothic building, which uses new technological developments, we can say, "medieval high-tech", the intended effect of the projection of the internal structure of the building to the outside. In this structure becomes a tracery-illusory and constructive for surprising clarity.

When we present Gothic structure, the paint in your mind a very vivid image, sharp and expressive silhouette, numerous decorative elements. But the wealth of Gothic forms is achieved not only by the diversity of forms. Despite the apparent simplicity of the Romanesque almost no duplicates. In Gothic, also used the principle of "uniformity" of forms and diversity is achieved by numerous repetitions of elements that are similar in type, but differ in the proportions, creating, thus, a sense of openwork lace.

So-called "flaming Gothic" is the last and final stage of the High Gothic. It gets the highest architectural decorative dynamism, resembling flames fluttered up.

In the late XIX-early XX century, and especially in the period of eclecticism, a replica of the Gothic style was very common. In modern architecture and interior design to the Gothic treated fairly rare.
